About the Author

Josiah Carter Reliability Engineer, Advantage Reliability Services

Josiah grew up as the child of a missionary couple in rural Africa, which taught him equal parts resourcefulness and outside-the-box thinking in addition to forcing a high value on integrity and helping those who lack the resources or knowledge to help themselves. After completing his engineering degree from LeTourneau University, he worked as a pump engineer at Hydro, Inc and later KSB/Standard Alloys. He now works as a Reliability Engineer with Advantage Reliability Services, using pump performance testing, vibration analysis, infrared analysis, ultrasonic leak detection, and IIOT remote condition monitoring to identify equipment liabilities and provide reliability-oriented predictive maintenance recommendations.
