Reporting to the Technology Department Services North America, the other Original Equipment Manufacturer (oOEM) / Multi-brand Engineer is responsible with technical support for expanding the multi brand service business, and in the operating and maintaining wind farms with turbines of manufacturers other than Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy in North America. This represents an important part of the strategic plan of the company, with aggressive growth targets.
The Technology department will support the oOEM department and the Sales department to meet the growth targets. It also partners with multiple departments including Operations, Procurement, Supply
Chain, Engineering, Warranty Management, etc., to successfully accomplish the budgeted KPIs once the assets are in operation.
Responsibilities

The role of Other OEM Engineer will be responsible to provide engineering support to the Operations team by performing the activities in the following areas:

Inspections

Failure analysis and review

Main Component Failure Analysis

Asset Management Consultation

Repair and replacement support
-
Reconditioning support
-
Onsite / facility activities
-
RCA and Engineering statements on WTG design and performance topics

Aftermarket Product Support to sales

Regional alignment and dedicated focal points

Contract review

Assesment of technical capabilities to comply with customer orders on contractual obligations from Service Technology

Support the after-market team by providing technical advice in existing engineering business opportunities by identifying technical solutions that can be offered to existing customers

Provide technical support for Supply Chain and Quality Management activities for vendor qualification/evaluation as well as technical responses for material solution and dispositions

Share customer experiences, technical issues and engineering solutions with colleagues from other regions within the organization
- Describe complex technical issues and their solutions and prepare technical reports for internal and external customers by using excellent oral and written communications skills
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
- BS in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or related field of study
- 5+ years technical proficiency in design or reliability engineering of multiple OEM wind technologies
- 5+ years technical experience in the wind industry
- Position is expected to require 15% travel time
- Ability to quickly adapt to new environments, technically and commercially
- Ability to work in a matrix organization with multiple lines of functional management
- Ability to work in a global environment and collaborate to develop technology solutions

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
- Wind farm operation knowledge
- Speaking Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus
- Experience in controls, microelectronics, or communication technologies is a plus
