Reliability Engineer

Franklin International, a leading manufacturer of adhesives, coatings, and sealants is currently seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer. This position is responsible for applying established reliability and project engineering practices towards the management of plant equipment corporate-wide and continuous improvement activities in assigned areas.

Essential Job Tasks – Performs all facets of reliability like standardization, improving asset reliability, improving asset life cycle, cause/effect analysis, identifying and managing risks, etc. Determines causes of unplanned equipment downtime and implements corrective actions. Analyzes data from maintenance management software (EAM) and other sources to identify opportunities for improvement. Provides hands-on diagnostic support using tools/equipment like ultra sound, vibration, infrared, and high speed camera to assist maintenance, and manufacturing management on resolving plant equipment/ processes issues.

Assists with the capital planning process and implementation that applies to reliability improvement efforts. Manages multiple projects through to completion with minimal supervision and guidance. Creates project plans and schedules for purchase, installation and start-up of new equipment and processes. Generates PM’s along with operating procedures as they would apply to equipment operation for any new or existing equipment.

Assists with the development of maintenance operating budgets based on historical trending and improvement initiatives for assigned area. Works with project engineering to assure maintainability and reliability of new equipment. Provides direction to technical personnel like Pd.M. technicians, and maintenance personnel as needed to support reliability improvement initiatives.

Knowledge and Skills- BS in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years of Reliability and Maintenance Engineering experience. Demonstrated ability working with packaging equipment. CMMS and project Engineering experience in a chemical manufacturing environment, and specifically project experience with polymerization considered a plus.
